First impression of Japan? What really hit me bad was having to train in the snow during the winter season.
What is dormitory life like in Japan? The Japanese are fun and very friendly but most importantly by staying in the dorms I can learn a lot about the culture.
Favourite food? Lu sipi and puaka tunu
Favourite Japanese Word? 頑張る – Go hard or go home
Future ambitions? I would love to play in the top league one day. I also want to keep chasing my dreams off the field, one day finding a good job to help my family back in Tonga.
People you look up to and why? I look up to the members in my family. They motivate me and they are the reason why I still keep going hard.
Favourite player and why? My favourite player is Suntory loose forward George Smith. I love his playing style.
Advice to high school players? Do what is right not what is easy.
Favourite quote/scripture/saying? Alma 37:37 .Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day
If you weren’t playing rugby what would you be doing now? I don’t want to think about life without rugby. One way or another we were destined to meet.
