Firstly, what made you want to play rugby in Japan? Hearing everyone else’s experiences and wanting to experience the culture!
Prior to arriving what’s your image of Japan? Busy but with lots of tradition and customs.
What are your thoughts on womens rugby in Japan? I’m told they train a lot so I think the programme for women’s rugby is intense. Im nervous about being able to keep up.
What Japanese words do you know already? At this stage only ”Konichiwa” but I’ll practice!
What do you think you will add to your team here? Identifying profiles and strategising how to use them.
How do feel about living in Tokyo (population 14 million) ? Excited – I enjoy travelling to other countries. But I’ve been wanting to visit Japan!
What things are you hoping to try here in the land of the rising sun? The food! I would love to visit a supreme store and see the skateboard environment. I’d also like to see some traditions and customs and get to be a part of it.
Whats your favorite Japanese food? Beef tataki, edamame, sticky pork but I don’t know the Japanese name.
Who is your sporting role model? Valerie Adams – she’s very real in all she does!
What NZ food do you think you will miss the most? Feijoas
Finally, what message do you have for young females wanting play rugby at the highest level? Start young, be resilient and find someone who believes in you.
